This painting was done on Oct. 23. It was overcast. I was attracted by the reflection of the yellow tree across the pond. Since there was no sun, the local color was complicated. I was so concentrated on painting the colors that I paid less attention to the shapes. I wanted to make some changes but I posted it anyway.

Old Westbury Garden-- West Pond
This painting was done on Oct. 23. It was overcast. I was attracted by the reflection of the yellow tree across the pond. Since there was no sun, the local color was complicated. I was so concentrated on painting the colors that I paid less attention to the shapes. I wanted to make some changes but I posted it anyway.
Oyster Bay--Fall Foliage
Oil on Canvas Board 8x8
I have made five new paintings since the last post. I want to do some changes on those paintings before posting them, though. This painting was done on October 21st. Since I am painting outside everyday, I still didn't get the chance to make the changes I want. Maybe I will do some changes when I transfer those plein air paintings to my studio paintings.

First Day of Autumn
The Fix
My super awesome advisor thinks the hills behind the gazebo looked like a tsunami. I fixed it by adding a touch of green and I sharpened the edges a little. I also down-toned the shadows in the foreground. There is a small white boat in front of the big ship. Can you see it? I made it more clear, but I don't like it and want to undo it. What do you think?
That's the reason I don't like to fix paintings-the more I do the worse it gets. Next time I'll just listen to my super awesome advisor but I won't do what she says. Now I like the unfixed version more. :(

Summer's End -- Oyster Bay, The Light Ship
Oil on Paper 11x14 in
The last day of summer is warm and pleasant. The grass is changing color. I finished this painting in 2 hours and twenty minutes. It was a very pleasant experience.
My great, super awesome advisor wants me to fix this painting. Where will I fix it? Please check my next post to find out!
